The 3488 km border between India and China is connected by the McMahon Line, with troops from both the countries stationed at Himachal, Ladakh and Sikkim for patrols. There is a defense post at Nathula, 65 km from Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. It is constantly snowing there as it is located at an altitude of 14,800 feet above sea level. A young man from Punjab was enlisted in the 24th Punjab Regiment and he joined the service in 1968.
One day while performing his service, he slipped and fell into a ravine. After two days of trying, his body was not found. Then he came in a dream of a colleague and told him that his body was two km away. He was brought and buried accordingly. From that day onwards, Harbhajan started working to protect his border while on duty. It seemed to wake up the sleeping soldiers, to tell them the enemy’s movements. So his bunkers became a place of worship for the soldiers.
It is difficult to breathe easily due to a lack of oxygen here. So in 1982, a large temple was built on the lower side of the Nathula checkpoint on behalf of the army. Baba patrols day and night to inspire you. It is from this feeling that soldiers and people come to visit him. Baba’s clothes, shoes, and other materials are decorated in the temple every day. Tea, breakfast is served along with other soldiers. In the past, they were given a two-month leave from September 15 to November 15. Progressives don’t agree, but it’s on behalf of the Indian Army. भारत और चीन के बीच 3488 किलोमीटर की सीमा मैकमोहन रेखा से जुड़ी है। सिक्किम की राजधानी गंगटोक से 65 किमी दूर नाथुला में एक रक्षा चौकी है। समुद्र तल से 14,800 फीट की ऊंचाई पर लगातार बर्फबारी होती रेहती है। पंजाब का एक युवक 24 वीं पंजाब रेजिमेंट में भर्ती हुआ और 1968 में सेवा में शामिल हुआ।
एक दिन अपनी सेवा करते समय, वह फिसल गया और एक खड्ड में गिर गया। दो दिन की कोशिश के बाद भी उसका शव नहीं मिला। फिर वह एक सहयोगी के सपने में आया और उसे बताया कि उसका शरीर दो किमी दूर है। उसे उसी के अनुसार लाया गया और दफनाया गया था। उसी दिन से, हरभजन ने ड्यूटी पर रहते हुए अपनी सीमा की रक्षा के लिए काम करना शुरू कर दिया। यह सोए हुए सैनिकों को जगाने, उन्हें दुश्मन की हरकत बताने के लिए लगा। इसलिए उसके बंकर सैनिकों के लिए पूजा स्थल बन गए।
यहां ऑक्सीजन की कमी के कारण आसानी से सांस लेना मुश्किल है। इसलिए 1982 में सेना की ओर से नाथुला चौकी के निचले हिस्से में एक बड़ा मंदिर बनाया गया था। बाबा आपको प्रेरित करने के लिए दिन- रात गश्त करते हैं। यह इस भावना से है कि सैनिक और लोग उससे मिलने आते हैं। बाबा के कपड़े, जूते और अन्य सामग्री हर दिन मंदिर में सजाई जाती है। अन्य सैनिकों के साथ चाय, नाश्ता परोसा जाता है। पूर्व में, उन्हें 15 सितंबर से 15 नवंबर तक दो महीने की छुट्टी दी गई थी। प्रगतिशील इस बात से सहमत नहीं होंगे, लेकिन यह भारतीय सेना की ओर से है। जो भी हो, बाबा हरभजन सिंह हमारी सीमाओं पर एक सांत्वना और प्रेरणा के रूप में काम कर रहे हैं।
