As soon as we hear the news about the monsoon winds coming near Kerala we start making plans for rainy season. I mean yes of course even I am one of them. Woh barish ki chai aur kanda bhaji, woh har taraf hariyali…

I know I know you have now started imagining stuff. But all we do is go to that same place every time. But this year let’s start making plans in advance and explore something new, something different. These are top 5 places in Maharashtra to visit in monsoon

1. Bhimashankar

Located in the beautiful ghat region of Sahyadri hills. Bhimashankar is situated at an height of around 3,250 feet. It is surrounded by hills and is covered by thick green rainforests. Sahyadri Wildlife Sanctuary and Jyotirlinga Temple are some of the most popular places to visit here.

2. Mahabaleshwar

Mahabaleshwar is a very popular spot for monsoon getaways. It is well known for strawberry cultivation, but along with that it is also famous for beautiful mountain hill view, waterfalls and much more. Though it is a very common destination, it is a must visit place in monsoon.

3. Tamhini Ghat

Tamhini Ghat is a must visit place in rainy season. If you do not have it on your bucket list then it’s time to reframe your list. The view of waterfalls are breath taking. The waterfalls make their way through mountains covered with greenery all over that makes you fall in love with the place and the rainy season as well.

Thoseghar Village in Satara is filled with waterfalls ranging from 20 metres to 500 metres in height. It has a calm and quiet surrounding which makes it a perfect spot for rainy day outing.

5. Amboli Ghats

This is one of the best places to visit in monsoon. They are well known for waterfalls and are visited by the tourists round the year. It is situated 690 m above the sea level and is home to some unusual flora and fauna.
